Have no fear, the forum's tournament analyst is here. ;) The U$10 "Dealer Bonus Buy" does not go to prize pool, so the rake is an unbeatable 27% ($30 / $110). To see how unbeatable that kind of rake is, let's assume 100 players play that tournament 100 times. It will cost you $11,000 in buy-ins, of which Seneca will take away a whopping $3,000. Excluding the 30% withholding tax, you will have to be one of the best tournament players and make it to the money almost 45% of the time (~$250 for 9th place), or you have to win 1st place (~$2650) four times more than average in order to make money.

By the way, that so-called "Deep Stack" tournament uses a faster blind schedule with antes, so the Skill Level is less than 5. The Friday 1 AM tournament has a rake of 31%! To summarize, Seneca Niagara's daily tournaments are great for the dealers & casino, but unwinnable in the long run for players because of the huge rake. I would love to work there as a dealer since I would get paid up to 15% of the players' buy-ins instead of the standard 2%-4% gratuities.

Seneca's special tournaments such as the Winter Challenge starting on January 9 and $400+10 WSOP super satellite are a great value to play in. I would say that the tournament players at Seneca and Casino Brantford are similar, i.e., decent but beatable. In other words, it's worth the trip to the Seneca poker room for the raked cash games, special tournaments & satellites, but avoid the daily tournaments and SNGs.
